We recently spent 3 days in Barcelona with Henry (3.5 years old) and Andrew (1.5 years old). It was our first stop on our 10-day journey in Europe, so we were definitely jet-lagged, but we just said: “we are in Barcelona time!” (Everyone is up until wee hours of the morning!) We just embraced the late nights and mid-day fun!

Barcelona Zoo
You know you are in Barcelona with kids when… you go to the zoo. This zoo was pretty cool though!

This market is right off of Las Ramblas street and had so much colorful produce, meat, seafood and treats!

Park Guell
A very symbolic picture of our experience with Park Guell.
This is a sore subject. 🙂 We had tickets for 7:30 pm one night. I used Google Maps to get us there via train. We got off the train station, ask someone for directions. We end up at Park Guell, but at the top of the park, not where the Gaudi’s house was. By the time we got there, the park was closing. We decided to go back the next day (this was my #1 place I wanted to see), but of course, the wait was too long to do with 2 kids. We made the best by walking around the park, watched the bubble show, and got ice cream!

Montjuïc Cable Car
We took the cable car up to the castle and walked down. Definitely recommend and easy to do with kids!

Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter
This is the area we stayed in, and it was perfect, minus all the noise at night. It was so nice to walk out of our “apartment style hotel” (which is basically an Airbnb) and be able to walk right onto Las Ramblas street, where I spent most of my days as a 20-year-old when I would come here. (I had a similar schedule back then without the jet lag of staying up until 4 am and waking up around noon…)

Evening Fun in Barcelona with Kids
Since we were jet lagged and awake at night, we took advantage and stayed out later than usual. We went to the beach and had dinner on the beach one night, and we went to a Flamenco and dinner show the other night!

There you have it!
Despite the jet-lag, we had so much fun in Barcelona and wished that we stayed for a couple of more days so we could actually go into Park Guell and go to Familia Sagrada!
