“We are going to Disneyland!” is what Henry keeps telling everyone and it’s true! We are so excited. Here are our packing list and tips for our trip to Disneyland with a baby and a toddler for 3 nights 2 days!
Packing List for the Family with a Toddler and Baby
In the check-in bag
- Diapers (6 per day, in each size to be on the safe side)
- Wipes (just one full pack, this you can get easily anywhere)
- Sound machine (if your kid uses it)
- Any well loved stuffed animals or blankets (this really should be at the top of this list)
- Book to read before bed (if that’s part of your routine)
- 2 outfits per day per kid
- 2 outfits per day per parent
- Walking shoes for everyone
- Lightweight shoes for everyone (flip flops, sandals, slip on shoes, etc.)
- Disney character signature book
- Mickey ears or any Disney gear (if you already have them)
- Prepurchased tickets
- Swimsuits for everyone (if it’s that time of the year)
- Light jacket/sweater for everyone
- Sunscreen/hat
- 2 pairs of underwear per adult or potty trained kid per day
- Toiletries
In the carry-on bag (which should also be a bag to bring in the park)
- Baby carrier
- Change of outfit per kid
- Leggings and light shirt for mom (you may never need this, but one large vomit on you and you will be glad you carried this on your trip for years unused.)
- Tylenol or any other medication frequently used
- Snacks, snacks, snacks and… snacks
- Lots of $1 store or $1 bin toys to pull out on “emergencies”
- iPad/tablet for toddler if you use that (life saver for us)
- Diapers (5 per child depending on where you are coming from. Bring 1 per hour of flight and you will be safe.)
- Wipes
- Empty water bottle (fill it up after security)
- Chargers for your electronics
- Camera
Pack it all in a rolling duffle!
When we pack, we put all of our stuff in one rolling duffle bag and check it. It makes packing so much easier, and we can just drop it off, and travel lightly for the rest of the time. A duffle bag that is light is a money saver in the long run because your bag doesn’t take up the precious luggage pounds restricted by the airlines. Traveling on a budget airline? This tip is so much more important. Check out our other tips to travel on a budget airline here.
Amazon Prime for Bulky Essentials
If your hotel is ok with it, order Amazon Prime for diapers, wipes, snacks, or anything else that takes up space so it will get there the day you arrive! No need to make an extra stop to the grocery store, all of your stuff will be waiting there for you at the lobby. Love this trick.
Download the Apps
- In general: We can help you come up with your detailed trip itinerary here or download Google Trips. It’s amazing. You have all of your reservation info all in one place.
- For the plane ride: Apps for the toddler to be entertained, apps for your airline (some airline’s entertainment is solely through their app)
- For when you land & at Disney: Uber or Lyft (cheapest way to get to your hotel), Google maps for directions; Disneyland and My Disney Experience apps are so helpful at the park! You can see the map, check for wait times and find out show times!
Such a great list! We have a baby and toddler too .. sometimes packing for bigger trips can be difficult. This will come in handy for feature trips. Shared on Twitter too because I know my followers will also find this handy! (@MomEhCA)
Thanks! It came in handy when we packed for Disneyland and I’m glad to hear you think it’s helpful too!
Great list! I don’t think you can ever over prepare when traveling with kids! And even though I’ve packed lots for Disney, I’m going to review this before our next trip!
Good to hear this list can help you! It means a lot coming from a Disney expert!
Amazon prime is my favorite tip for trips to Disneyland (or World!). Once we got to 3-4 years old, we actually let the kids pack their own small carry-on. The toys and distraction always seem better when they picked them out themselves!
That’s such a good idea! Henry is getting there with packing his own stuff. Next trip, I will see if he will go for it!
